Replacement parts for secondary mounts

Important: The parts below are sold only as replacements for damaged components on Protostar mounts, or for special projects. Protostar spiders and holders must be used together for collimation functionality, which is why these are normally sold together. We offer these replacement parts for current owners of Protostar secondary mounts who have damaged a component.

These spiders are sold separately as replacements, or for special projects. You should normally order the spider and holder together as a complete assembly.

When ordering replacement spiders, please provide the secondary mirror size, number of vanes (3 or 4 vanes), tube inside diameter, and the tube's wall thickness. Spiders can also be ordered with options (see below). See here for more information. Replacement spiders include collimation adjustment tool and mounting hardware. Made in U.S.A.

Options for replacement spiders

Spiders for mirror sizes from 1.52" to 4.00" can be ordered pre-wired for the anti-dew heater option. Go here for more information about the anti-dew heater option, and how to specify built-in spider offset.

These holders are sold separately as replacements, or for special projects. You should normally order the spider and holder together as a complete assembly. Replacement holders include the holder body, clutch disk, mirror shroud, mirror pad, tensioning nut, and mirror spacer washers. Made in U.S.A.
